Research Associate

Job Summary 

A Research Associate position is available for a qualified individual to join a biomedical research laboratory focused on the development of vaccines against parasitic diseases.

Essential Functions 

The position requires a Master of Science degree in Biological Sciences or related fields, with experience conducting molecular biology and/or immunology research in small animal models. Individuals with a Bachelor of Science degree plus 3-4 additional years of experience working in a research laboratory will be considered. The RA will work under the supervision of senior research personnel on mRNA/LNP vaccine production and the evaluation of vaccine immunogenicity in mice. The RA will work closely with a post-doctoral fellow and graduate research assistant to ensure timely evaluation of both T and B cell responses elicited by various vaccine formulations, including in vitro studies of parasite neutralization. The research associate will also assist in managing laboratory supplies, maintaining approval of IACUC and Biosafety protocols and monitoring laboratory compliance with the Drexel Environment Health and Safety program. Excellent organizational skills are required.  Excellent record keeping skills are required.

Required Qualifications 

Minimum of a Master’s Degree in Microbiology and/or Immunology or equivalent.  Please review the  Equivalency Chart for additional information.   Minimum of a 1-2 years of experience in related field. Small animal research experience a plus

Additional Information 

This position is classified as an exempt grade I. Compensation for this grade ranges from $ 41,120.00 to $61,680.00 per year. Please note that the offered rate for this position typically aligns with the minimum to midrange of this grade, but it can vary based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
