Job Title Research Associate Agency Texas A&M University Department Educational Adm & Human Resources Development Proposed Minimum Salary Commensurate Job Location College Station, Texas Job Type Staff Job Description What we want The Learning Support Specialist II, under general supervision, will work collaboratively with Texas Center for the Advancement of Literacy and Learning (https://tcall.tamu.edu/TRAIN-PD-TCALL-About.html) "TCALL’s" learning management system (LMS) team to provide high-quality technical support to end users experiencing difficulties with online courses or the LMS. This position will work closely with the LMS administrator to assist in maximizing the efficiency and effectiveness of the LMS. The Learning Support Specialist II will also assist with the gathering and analysis of LMS usage data for reporting purposes. Will maintain up to date knowledge and skills of evolving LMS features in addition to creating/updating LMS resources and video tutorials for utilization by end users. Responsibilities Learning Management System End-User Assistance: + Provides technical support (via phone or email) to end users experiencing difficulties with navigating the LMS and/or an online course + Maintains current database of technical assistance resources for LMS end users + Builds/Updates LMS documentation and video tutorials + Updates existing or creates new technical assistance resources as LMS features or end user needs evolve Learning Management System Management: + Manages and updates LMS accounts with supervisory permissions and maintains an accurate list of those who have increased permissions + Assists in the testing of new LMS features and configuration + Maintains up to date expert knowledge and skills evolving LMS features and procedures + Works closely with TWC-funded Professional Development (PD) Coordinators to maintain end user accounts for their AEL staff + Stays well-informed of routine LMS updates. Communicates upcoming changes and expected impact(s) with TCALL team and AEL end users + As needed, provides training for major updates and changes Reporting and Analysis of LMS Activities: + Prepares quarterly, annual and ad hoc reports for LMS usage and user/training statistics + Creates custom reports for statewide TWC-funded Adult Education and Literacy (AEL) programs + Compiles and analyzes LMS usage statistics for AEL programs + Assists with the ongoing maintenance of program records and databases Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: + Knowledge of word, spreadsheet, and database applications + Familiarity with the American with Disabilities Act and Section 508 Compliance What you need to know Salary: Compensation will be commensurate to selected hire’s experience Cover Letter/Resume: A cover letter and resume will assist us in our review of your application materials Funding: This position is grant-funded, future employment is contingent upon future funding Required Education: + Bachelor’s degree in education, technology or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience + Two years of related experience managing a Learning Management System or providing technology-related customer service Preferred Qualifications: + Experience with Cornerstone On Demand learning and talent management system Who we are TCALL is a project of the Texas Center for the Advancement of Literacy and Learning (https://tcall.tamu.edu/TRAIN-PD-TCALL-About.html) at Texas A&M University funded by the Texas Workforce Commission to serve as the statewide Professional Development and Resource Center for Texas Adult Education and Literacy (AEL).
