Description: Research Associate will be responsible determining the food quality and safety of alternative protein foods and collaborating with industry partners in the development of innovative products from alternative protein sources (ie.,insects, vegetables, etc The candidate has the responsibility of assisting with providing and maintaining quality laboratory facilities and learning experiences for the CEPHT’s students. The Research Associate must conduct research expected at the doctoral level, assist with preparing grants/contracts for extramural funding, meet project deadlines, and publish research findings in reputable scientific journals. Requirements: PhD in Food Science, Nutrition Science or closely related field, postdoctoral research experience, a strong publicationrecord, and demonstrated potential to obtain external research funding. Minimum of two years of postdoctoralresearch experience. Demonstrated ability to prepare and secure extramurally funded grants. Demonstrated ability toconduct basic and translational research related to food safety and microbiology of value-added products. Ability to plan, conduct and publish innovative high-quality research that can attract significant extramural funding.
