Job Title: Research AssociateJob Description Join our In Vitro Cell Culture team as a Research Associate. This role involves working with biological samples such as plasma, blood, urine, and feces from both animal and human sources. You will support the life team, process samples, and run basic wet chemistry techniques including pipetting, cell counting, and centrifuging. The focus is on cell culture, maintaining and growing cell lines for assays, and operating Mass Spec for extractions and sample analysis. Responsibilities + Process and analyze biological samples including plasma, blood, urine, and feces. + Maintain and grow cell lines for assays. + Run basic wet chemistry techniques such as pipetting, cell counting, and centrifuging. + Operate Mass Spec for extractions and future sample analysis. + Conduct studies from start to finish, including seeding cells onto assay plates, harvesting plates, and running extractions. + Handle animal study samples in a lab setting, using cell lines, blood, or plasma. + Utilize analytical techniques like plate readers, LC-MS, and radio reader compounds. Essential Skills + B.S. degree in Biochemistry, Biology, Molecular Biology, or a related life science degree. + 2-4 years of experience in sterile cell culture, maintaining cell stocks. + 2-4 years of experience with sterile techniques. + 2-4 years of experience in tissue culture. + Strong understanding of biology, biochemistry, tissue culture, cell culture, cell biology, aseptic technique, and sterile technique. + Proficiency in wet chemistry techniques and accurate pipetting skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Masters degree in the biological sciences is a plus. + Industry experience preferred over academic experience. + Experience with PCR is a plus, though training will be provided. + Ability to troubleshoot and conduct literature research independently. + Strong scientific mindset, capable of developing and expanding techniques. Work Environment You will work in a busy lab environment as part of the Metabolism In-Vitro team. The Metabolism team collaborates closely with the in-life team, with a focus on in-vitro work. The lab environment is dynamic, with workload forecasts varying from 6-8 weeks ahead. The company is exploring hiring a contingent workforce to manage periods of high workload. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
