The Research Associate is responsible for generating cellular material for validation of Abcam’s antibody products, ensuring our products are validated in the optimal models for our customers This position reports to the Team Leader and is part of the Cell Engineering & Cell Sciences department and located in Cambridge (UK) and is a lab-based role (on site). In this role, you will have the opportunity to: + Perform mammalian cell culture of adherent and suspension cell lines to generate cellular material for antibody validation, conducting compound treatments where required to upregulate biomarkers + Generate QC lysates from cell pellets and tissue samples for use in antibody validation pipelines + Assist in developing and optimizing new cell treatments for improved antibody validation process The essential requirements of the job include: + A BSc and/or MSc. in a Life Sciences subject + Practical experience in culturing mammalian cells in an industrial environment + Excellent attention to detail with good organizational skills It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in: + Culturing more complex cell types (primary cells, stem cells) + Understanding of antibody validation This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
