Position Summary The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Michigan State University invites applications for multiple full-time Postdoctoral Research Associate positions in Dr. Qingxu “Bill” Jin’s research group. These positions offer exciting opportunities for individuals with expertise and research interests in the following areas: + Multi-scale cementitious material design and characterization + Multifunctional fiber-reinforced cementitious/ceramic composites + Low-carbon infrastructure materials + ML/AI-enabled imaging analysis and applications + Deep decarbonization through material recycling and CO₂ conversion + Life cycle assessment (LCA) studies The successful candidates will work under the guidance of Dr. Qingxu “Bill” Jin (billjin@egr.msu.edu) in the Resilient, Intelligent, Sustainable & Energy-efficient (RISE) Infrastructure Materials Laboratory. Required Degree Doctorate -Engineering, or closely related discipline Minimum Requirements + A Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a closely related field is required. + A demonstrated record of academic excellence and research achievement is essential. + Strong oral and written communication skills are required. + The ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and a high level of self-motivation are expected. Desired Qualifications + Strong analytical skills are beneficial, including but not limited to SEM, TEM, XRD, TGA, FITR, NMR, and ICP-OES. Experience with thermodynamic modeling of construction materials.
