The Opportunity
As Research Associate I in the Research and Early Tech Development team, you have a unique opportunity to leverage your background and skills in chemistry as you will be executing a range of analytical and bioanalytical procedures and laboratory duties both under supervision and independently. Also, you are:
Responsible for the day to day running of experiments and data analysis in the Electrochemistry, Surface Chemistry and Fluidics laboratoriesCarrying out work to Company standards, including documentation and accurate record keeping and maintaining related work schedules to support product development timelines. Preparing reagents and solutions as needed, using appropriate procedural and documentation methods, including industry standard good laboratory practices. Interacting with other internal departments, as necessary, to plan and expedite project objectives. Analyzing and compiling experimental data and reports and records results in laboratory notebooks. Present work at meetings as required, and propose new strategies and methods to address immediate and upcoming technical issuesProviding scientific support to allow completion of development and technology transfer objectives for diagnostic products. You hold a BSc degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related fields. MSc is desirable but not required.
You bring a minimum of one (1) year of Chemistry, Molecular Biology, or Biochemistry laboratory experience in an R&D setting post-BSc degree. Experience with Analytical Chemistry instruments is required. Hands-on experience with electrophoresis techniques and PCR techniques is desirable but not required.
Behaviors, competencies, and qualities of the ideal applicant
Competency with Chemistry concepts is required. First-hand experience with sample handling, buffer and reagent solutions preparation in low concentrations, Analytical Chemistry methods, pH measurement, spectroscopic methods, instrument calibrations and other techniques used in Chemistry labs
Experience with molecular biology methods and techniques such as PCR, PAGE/agarose electrophoresis is considered a plus, as well as experience with electroanalytical methods such as CV, EIS and SWV
Experience with statistical analysis methods, and ability to present results. JMP and MATLAB/Simulink knowledge is a plus.
Hands-on, self-directed, organized, and analytical individual. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Strong problem-solving, judgment, and decision-making skills

The expected salary range for this position based in California is 52,300.00 - 97,100.00 USD Annual Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
