The Department of Chemistry at the University of Virginia invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate, who is excited about the opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative research environment. The successful candidate will work in the laboratory of Prof. Tepe, as part of a collaborative team of scientists from the National Institutes of Health and Portera Therapeutics.
The candidate will be responsible for the synthesis of small molecules, evaluation of pre-ADME properties, and in vitro and cellular high through-put assay development. This is a one-year appointment; however, the appointment may be renewed for additional years contingent upon available funding and satisfactory performance.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: A Ph.D. degree in Chemistry is required by the appointment start date. The candidate must have effective oral and written communication skills. Required skills include, experienced in heterocyclic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, spectroscopic characterization of small molecules, and in in vitro and cellular assay development.
