We are currently seeking a Post-Doctoral Research Associate to work in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the School of Engineering and Applied Science, University of Virginia with Professor Eric Loth. We are seeking a qualified candidate with expertise in the research and development of computational wind turbine design and experimental heat transfer.
QUALIFICATIONS: A Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics or a related field is required by the start date. Candidates must have experience with computational wind turbine design in terms of energy capture efficiency, operational regimes, annual energy production, Design Load Cases and atmospheric conditions. In addition, experience with experimental heat transfer is important to help investigate new concepts in Compressed Air Energy Storage. Experience can be demonstrated with publications in these fields. The candidate must be able to work in team environment, mentor graduate students, lead new research initiatives and meet project goal deadlines/reports.
