Research Associate in the Department of Neurosurgery specializing in Parkinson's Disease

The Department of Neurosurgery at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for a Research Associate position in the Academic Support Staff. This appointment will be initially for one (1) year and continuation during that time period and renewal are based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years). Expertise is required in the specific area of tissue engineering, biomaterials and TE-NSP microtissue consisting of human induced pluripotent stem cells. Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree.
Responsibilities may include developing a therapy for Parkison's Disease consisting of a pathway reconstruction strategy and making implants consisting of dissociated rat brain neuronal preparations.
The successful applicant will have an opportunity to develop an independent research program in the area of Parkinson's Disease therapy.
