OBJECTIVES/PURPOSE
The Cell Engager Team of the Takeda Oncology Drug Discovery Unit is looking for an enthusiastic lab-based research associate to join a collaborative and dynamic team. This is a laboratory-based position that will play a critical role in supporting key pipeline programs tied to Gamma Delta cell engager concepts as well as other immune engaging mechanisms. The candidate will contribute to the, design, execution, and analysis of experiments, and will demonstrate effective communication and documentation of results with key stakeholders in the ODDU and associated departments. The candidate should have a foundation in immunology and/or cancer biology, with proven skills in immunological assays (flow cytometry, ELISA, effector functionality assays), as well as cell culture.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Conduct phenotypic and functional analysis of cells and antibodies according to experimental plans agreed on by supervisor. This will include flow cytometry, imaging, MSD, ELISA, and cytokine analysis. Isolate, culture, and differentiate various immune cell populations (VD1 cells, T cells, monocytes, etc).Analyze, interpret, and present data to important partners, and play an active role in the subsequent scientific discussions leading to important decisions and program-ensuring next stepsParticipate in cross functional project team meetings to provide key scientific insightMulti-task effectively and prioritize workloadMaintain excellent documentation through timely data analysis and ELN entriesContribute to pre-clinical projects by developing well-defined mechanistic experiments and projects.Contribute to IND report writing and documentation.Demonstrates technical knowledge of a scientific discipline including tissue culture, functional assays and data analysisUnderstands specific scientific mechanisms of why a procedure worksCommunicates research methods and findings in a matrixed environmentIndependently manages own workloadProvides information to project teams to influence direction, align with departmental goals and/or businessConducts scientific presentations to internal audiencesCollaborates with others within the matrix, and acts as scientific resource for in vitro pharmacologyStrives towards expanding scientific knowledge in immunologyReceives high level instructions on work; determines methods on new assignmentsPrimarily focused upon internal work packages/projects with the expectation of being able to effectively partner with internal functions and departments.EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
MS with 3+ years experience or BS with 6+ years experience with previous industry experience strongly preferredHands-on experience with multi-color flow cytometry, ELISA, MSD and other standard cell based assays is required.Experience with media preparation and cell culture, including primary cells is required. Use of scientific applications for data management and data analysis (Graph Pad Prism, Office 365, FlowJo etc).Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to learn and apply new techniques and applications for experimental design and data analysis is required.Ability to work independently, take the initiative and exercise good scientific judgment. Boston, MAU.S. Base Salary Range:
$96,600.00 - $151,800.00The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others.
