Job Summary

The project goal is to perform initial testing and data analysis of a new technology for harmonic cancellation in electric vehicle chargers and charging stations as part of the early stage of commercialization. The student's role will be assisting in the design, testing, and optimization of the harmonic cancellation system, as well as supporting the pilot trials and field tests.

Responsibilities*

1. Lab Setup and Maintenance:

Organize and maintain lab space and equipmentEnsure a safe, clean lab environment

2. Simulation and Experimentation:

Conduct simulations and experimentsCollect and analyze data accurately

3. Documentation and Reporting:

Prepare lab reports and assist in writing research papersMaintain detailed records of all research activities

4. Collaboration and Communication:

Work with team members and attend project meetingsCommunicate findings and incorporate feedback

5. Literature Review:

Perform literature reviews to support research efforts
 Required Qualifications*

1. Educational Background:

Enrolled in a graduate program in the College of Innovation and TechnologyStrong understanding of electric circuits and circuit theory

2. Technical and Research Skills:

Familiarity with simulation software (Matlab) and lab equipmentExperience in data collection, analysis, and interpretation; familiarity with data analysis tools

3. Communication and Writing:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills for report writing and teamwork

4. Problem-Solving and Collaboration:

Strong analytical, problem-solving abilities, and organizational skillsAbility to work effectively in a team setting and manage research documentationModes of Work

Onsite
The work requires, or the supervisor approves a fully onsite presence.  Onsite is defined as a designated U-M owned or leased work location within or outside of the State of Michigan

Additional Information

Graduate students will have a limited temp appointment and then may become a GSRA if this position is continued through the winter semester.
