Research Data Coordinator

The University of Virginia Comprehensive Cancer Center continues to expand while providing opportunities for cancer patients to enroll in clinical trials. In order to collect and analyze high quality data, the Cancer Center's Office of Clinical Research (CC OCR) is looking for a Research Data Coordinator to assist with the data management and entry for clinical trials in Oncology.

Data analysts support the various disease teams within the OCR with clinical trial data needs and records management. Administrative planning and organization of clinical research data activities are a primary function of the position. They support the daily business operations for clinical trials by maintaining trial data documentation and resources. They are distinguished from Clinical Research Coordinators by the administrative nature of their work and the lack of authority to consent subjects.

Job duties include:

Enter data electronically from paper forms (case report forms for clinical research visits on human subjects) into corresponding study databases. 

Learn multiple electronic databases according to requirements of the specific research studies. 

Address data queries from study management. Discuss queries with research coordinator or principal investigator as needed. 

Extract needed clinical information on research subjects using medical chart and electronic medical record. 

Upload imaging data to multiple web portals.

Utilize DocuSign to obtain appropriate signatures on source documents. 

File research related documents in appropriate sections of study subject binders.

Prepare simple cover letters and documents for sponsors.

In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

Minimum Requirements

Education: Bachelor's degree, relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Experience: 1-2yrs

Physical Demands

Most of the work performed is in an office environment.
