Internship #1: TPO Compound: dFMEA Formulation Creation
Thermo-Plastic Polyolefin products are one of the most widely used and most process complex materials within the automotive world. Applications such as door and instrument panels are commonly produced with thermoforming tooling and molds, which require different types of process set ups.
Project Responsibilities:
Use Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (dFMEA) as a systematic approach to identify failure modes in product's design, assess their impact on product performance, and prioritize actions to mitigate these risksCreate formulation dFMEA's and work with TPO constructions to understand how dFMEA appliesInternational norm investigationLab Testing (Mechanical)Numerical analysis and correlationEnd of summer presentationInternship #2: Raw Material Substitution for Cost Optimization
An internship in Operational Development will support the current year raw material substitution with the clear target to reduce material prices. Responsibilities will include raw material evaluations, and product evaluation testing. The OD Intern will gain real world, hands-on experience in a laboratory and production setting. They will participate in all aspects of the raw material development process and interface with other groups involved in the raw material approval process, from initiation to industrialization. They will support investigations and testing for raw material cost savings.
