Under minimal supervision, responsible for a range of engineering activities in new product research, including the development of new methods, programs, and procedures in accordance with the overall business direction. Roles and Responsibilities:
Executes Research projects from conceptualizations to commercial production launchDesigns and develops of new technologies using creative solutionsAssessing viability and feasibility of new technologiesCollects, records, reports and present results to peers and supervisor/manager either orally or in writingIndependently applies engineering principles to achieve project objectives, including the design and execution of complex experiments, and analysis and interpretation of data under limited supervisionKnowledge of various analytical techniques and interpretation of data from instruments independently including, but not limited to, various chromatographic systems, HPLC, IC, UV/Spec, various wet chemistry analyses, IR, Raman Spectroscopy, ICP, AAS, TGA, DSC, Particle size analysis, SEM, XPS, WAXD, etc.Understands chemical structure and their property relationships of materials including processing and rheology of polymers and apply them in various project activities.Utilizes a broad range of practical techniques in surface chemistry and material science.Closely follow and evaluate scientific literature, publications, and draw conclusions for the company, Gathering business and technical intelligence through patent, technical network, and literatureResponsible for scientific oversight on novel material synthesis and scale up, manufacturing process qualification and implementation into future.Skills and Qualifications Required
MTech in Chemical Engineering / Material Science / Catalysis or Polymer technology with 3-5 years of industrial R&D.Ability to lead projects and willingness to learn new domains and work in multi-disciplinary domainsSkills in rapid solving of polymer processing and surface chemistry-related problems with chemical composition and physical structure characterization using the latest techniques, Able to use advanced analytical techniques for material characterization for structure and property determination.Excellent professional communication and technical skillsGenuine enthusiasm for materials research in an interdisciplinary, application-oriented field.Following receipt of a conditional offer of employment, candidates will be required to complete additional job-related screening processes as permitted or required by applicable law.
