This position has the flexibility of a hybrid remote option with two days in a TTI Texas based office. This can be discussed further during the interview process. + The salary range for position is commensurate. Final salary will be determined based on the applicant's qualifications and experience. Job Summary The Research Engineering Associate I, under general supervision, receives specific instructions on assignment objectives and possible solutions from the project director, Principal Investigator, or higher-level research personnel. Continued employment is dependent upon availability of funding and satisfactory performance. Essential Duties Evaluates, selects, and applies standard techniques used in routine research and development. (5%) Performs entry-level technical engineering assignments related to a particular field of research. (20%) Makes and records observations and measurements. (5%) Compiles data. (5%) Sets up and operates apparatuses or equipment. (5%) Inspects minor construction/assembly to ensure conformity to project specifications. (5%) Collects and/or analyzes samples. (10%) Conducts directed phases of research and development projects. (20%) Collects and organizes information for various reports or prepares reports or portions of reports. (20%) Performs other duties as assigned. (5%) Required Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience. No prior experience required. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications. Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Other Requirements Work beyond normal business hours and/or work on weekends. May be required to work in hot, cold, and extreme weather conditions. Travel may be required. Preferred Qualifications Familiar with laboratory testing. Familiar with Chemistry. Familiar with materials used in infrastructure construction such as asphalt, cement, steel, concrete, soils and aggregates. Physical Requirements Ability to perform common office functions. Ability to frequently communicate with other individuals within the workplace. Ability to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery. Ability to operate laboratory equipment. Ability to move heavy objects (e.g. 50 lbs.) Ability to drive.
