We are currently looking for a Research Farm Technician located in Florenceville NB.

The Lead Research Farm Technician is responsible for safe equipment operation and maintenance related to full-cycle research farm operations from planting to harvest and grading. They will be responsible for maintaining day-to-day operations on the Research Farm located in Centreville, NB and executing the research plan for the season. This individual will take directions and planning from the Agronomy Manager – East position.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Experience with operation and maintenance of large farm machinery is critical.Must both be able to work cooperatively with teams and independently with little supervision depending on project demands. Some computer skills needed. A strong bias towards workplace safety both for McCain employees and our grower partners. Valid driver’s license UAV Pilot License (for UAV operations)Pesticide Applicators LicenseRequires standing and sitting for prolonged periods of time, talking and listening. Some heavy lifting is required (50 lbs.).

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse and telephone touchscreen and talk or hear.
Requires visual acuity to focus on desktop and/or laptop computer screen.
Scheduled work times may fluctuate seasonally related to farming cycles, especially during planting and harvesting. We are a global company, must have a willingness to occasionally modify workday/week to accommodate erratic planting and harvest schedules.
