The Department of Microbiology, Biochemistry, and Immunology is seeking an instructor to join their team. Under the general guidance of the Principal Investigator, the incumbent will be responsible for independently designing, conducting, and analyzing experiments related to the lab’s areas of interest, as well as providing training for staff/students as needed.
Serve as a senior, top-level contributor in research activities, under the mentorship of the Principal Investigator. Independently manages research projects, from inception to completion and reporting. Will develop new research/experimental areas, including potential research projects dependent on the main goals of the lab (with permission and consultation from the Principal Investigator). Responsible for designing and performing research experiments and collecting and analyzing data produced. Presents data in the form of weekly updates and other formats (including but not limited to scientific conferences and publications) Develops complex techniques, and teaches these procedures as needed. Supervises any students assigned to help with various research project tasks. May provide consultation and expertise on other complex projects and is considered to be a high-level scientist. Will provide training and mentoring to students working in the lab, providing conceptual and technical training. May apply for grant funding of independent projects, as applicable.

Minimum Qualifications This position requires a doctoral degree (PhD or MD) in molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, immunology, or other relevant areas of biomedical sciences.
