The successful candidate will have the opportunity to systematically process samples from a newly founded food allergy-focused human birth cohort and test for food allergies better understand food anaphylaxis. Work at Michigan Medicine and become a victor for the greater good. **What Benefits can you Look Forward to?** + Excellent medical, dental and vision coverage effective on your very first day + 2:1 Match on retirement savings **Responsibilities*** **Primary responsibilities** + Systematically process human samples, including blood, stool, placenta tissue and breastmilk. + Perform bench work with meticulous attention to detail. + Maintain high integrity in all aspects of the job. + Accurately enter sample information into our data management system (LabVantage). + Learn operation of Phadia 250 to take measurements of human IgE for food allergy screening. + Assist supervisor with editing SOPs and QuickStart guides for lab protocols and equipment. + Work independently but seek help when needed. + Work closely with PIs and supervisor to help ensure a smoothly running project. + Work with our collaborating teams across the university to address problems that arise. + Assist with creating figures for presentations. + Assist clinical coordinators with sample coordination. + Attend meetings as required. + Must be willing to perform rotating on-call duties. + Must be able to use a microscope. + Assist with general chores, including reagent preparation and general lab maintenance duties. The ideal candidate will have experience in human blood processing, maintaining laboratory data and a willingness to work with our team in a highly collaborative science environment. This candidate must be able to work independently, follow directions and ask for help when needed. Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and attention to detail are required.
