Molecular & Cellular Pharmacology has an exciting opportunity for a part-time Research Laboratory Technician position. The incumbent aids scientists in their experiments by monitoring and recording their findings. Moreover, the Research Laboratory Technician ensures laboratory compliance with applicable safety regulations.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS                                                                                              

Cleans, sanitizes, maintains, and operates laboratory equipment.

Keeps records of research data and assists in analyzing it. 

Maintains inventory of laboratory equipment and supplies and places orders in a timely fashion.

Proofreads and assists in the writing of manuscripts, grant proposals, and lab protocols.

Prepares reports of experiment results.

Performs research by completing simple experiments or steps in more complicated studies.

Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS                                                                                            

High School diploma or equivalent required

Minimum 1 year of relevant experience

Department Specific Functions

Perform PCR genotyping for animals.

Perform basic data analyses of cell and animal experiments.

Sets up and operates various scientific apparatus as needed.

Prepares and maintains culture media reagents.

Orders laboratory supplies as needed.

Attends and participates in meetings, conferences, and training groups as requested.

Records research procedures and results. Maintains records, codes data for input for electronic data processing inputs and retrieves data electronically.

Performs other duties as assigned.
