How you’ll make an impact: As the Researcher – Talk Programming, your main responsibilities will be to gather and parse information as part of The Howard Stern Show’s Research Department. Focusing on celebrities and pop culture, you will provide accurate and interesting information to several other departments. What you’ll do: Join the team that prepares notes for Howard Stern’s industry-leading interviews with A-list actors, musicians, world leaders, and sports stars. Create detailed, accurate guest note packages that include revisions and multiple drafts for use during the live show. Develop and curate strong angles based on your research for long-form guest interviews. Become an expert on upcoming celebrity guests and a trusted source of information for assigned guest notes packages. Work with different departments to provide accurate and timely research to enhance a variety of show content. Utilize fact-checking and proofreading expertise to review material used during live shows which can include segments, bits, games, and other topics that may come up. Actively work to improve Research Department processes with the goal of maintaining the show’s role as a pioneer in radio programming. What you’ll need: Bachelor's degree preferred. 2+ years of previous experience working in journalism or a research department preferred. Deep pop culture knowledge, especially movies, television, and music. A professional demeanor. Strong knowledge of various programming genres. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent time management and organizational skills. Ability to pay attention to details and be organized. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Excellent computer skills including Microsoft office suite. Audio Editing knowledge is preferred but not required. Must have legal right to work in the U.S. At SiriusXM, we carefully consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation, including your background and experience. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary. We expect the base salary for this position to be in the range of $62,000 - $85,000 and will depend on your skills, qualifications, and experience. Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary short-term and long-term incentives. We encourage all interested candidates to apply.
