Summary of Job Duties:The Program Manager will be responsible for providing direction and leadership on development of grant funded projects. The person in this position will work in collaboration with leadership and faculty to outline, develop, and support grant funded activities. Must have a thorough understanding of and experience in working with extramural funding, particularly with federal funding requirements such as CDC, HHS, NIH, and HRSA. Must have attention to detail and exceptional writing and organizational skills. This position will ensure that study documents, SOPs, instruments, and other study documents are developed and followed in accordance with the study protocol and expectations of the awarding agency. The person in this position will work closely with the Senior Research Program Director, Principal Investigator, and other study staff to track research outcomes and identify any issues related to meeting milestones, compliance, protocol deviation, and data quality.
Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in business, public administration, applied social science, public administration, anthropology, sociology, health care administration, or similar field.Five (5) years of project management, coordination, or other grant-related experience.Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Word.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to follow complex verbal and written instructions.Ability to work productively in a team environment.Ability to work under limited general supervision, and understand how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to understand and implement topical knowledge of federal granting systemsAbility to work productively and meet goals under deadlines.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond immediately to data requests.Preferred Qualifications:Master's Degree in business, public administration, applied social science, public administration, anthropology, sociology, health care administration, or similar field.Three (3) years of project management experience, coordination, or other grant-related experience.Project Management ProfessionalCertified Research Specialist

Key Responsibilities:
Project Management

Manage community-based research grant objectives and track milestones, ensuring activities are aligned with specific grant expectations and performance measures in conjunction with the Senior Director of Research Programs Ensure research project plans, instruments, SOPs, and other study documents are developed and implemented to ensure the accomplishment of research project objectives. Ensure project(s) meet milestones and timelines as outlined in the study protocol and adhere to the expectations of the funding agency and principal investigator Manage day-to-day project activities and resources. Able to lead and present study meetings workshops, training, or presentations.Identify and communicate potential and imminent issues that would create barriers to accomplishing research objectives Continuously monitor for process improvement opportunities; create and implement process improvement plans as needed

Reporting 

Maintain highly organized records for projects. Create timelines and ensure adherence to strict grant project timelines. Provides oversight and supervision of project staff. Ensures that program team members comply with accepted standards and behave in a professional and ethical mannerManage required reporting, deliverable management, and day-to-day oversight of grant-funded projects.Collaborate and organize information into comprehensive reports based on the requirements of specific funding agencies. Ensure adherence to UAMS policies related to grant-funded activities.
