Job Summary\:

The Institute on Disabilities at Temple University is hiring a Research Project Manager who would be primarily responsible for managing mixed methods research and evaluation projects. Research projects involve primary and secondary inclusive disability research, statewide assessment, and program evaluations. The Institute on Disabilities is Pennsylvania's University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Education, Research, and Service (UCEDD). UCEDDs provide university and community training, innovative services and supports, technical assistance, research, and dissemination to support people with disabilities in their pursuit of independence, productivity, community inclusion, and overall quality of life. Research and evaluation projects are carried out by inclusive research teams and in partnership with university and community partners. Project funders include local, state and federal agencies, private foundations, and community organizations. Accordingly, the incumbent is prepared to collaborate and interface with different audiences. 

The Research Project Manager will manage research and evaluation projects through their life cycle from start-up and development phases through the Institutional Review Board (IRB) process, data collection, data analysis, reporting, and dissemination. The Research Project Manager develops and maintains the operational, programmatic, and recording procedures to manage project activities and achieve desired outputs and outcomes. This includes ensuring compliance with IRB, university, and funder requirements, and anticipating barriers and identifying timely solutions.

The Research Project Manager reports to the Director of Research and Evaluation and works closely with the Research and Evaluation Team, including the Program Evaluation Coordinator, and project Principal Investigators. The Research Project Manager will also support the development of the research and evaluation portfolio through project design and proposal development. 

The Research Project Manager has experience managing research projects and working with people from historically marginalized communities, such as people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Required Education & Experience\:

Bachelor’s degree and at least four years of related experience.  An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

 

Preferred\: 

Master’s Degree  Understanding of the field of disabilities, especially federal, state and local policies and services concerning disabled people

Required Skills & Abilities\:

Demonstrated ability to oversee and manage multiple research projects simultaneously.  Knowledge of and experience with disabled people and/or underrepresented communities Experience with data collection and analysis. Serve as a responsive point of contact for project staff and funders Proactively identify barriers and solutions to project success Complete all necessary reports and data entry
