Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Research Scientist at the Center for Pharmacoepidemiology and Treatment Science (PETS). Under the direction of the Assistant Director of PETS, the Research Scientist supervises staff and day-to-day research activities for the Center and guides the execution of state-of-the-art multidisciplinary studies in the field of pharmacoepidemiology at the Center for Pharmacoepidemiology and Treatment Science, based at the Institute for Health, Health Care Policy and Aging Research.
Among the key duties of this position are the following: Responsible for research projects which include federal, foundation, and industry funded grants and contracts in various areas of pharmacoepidemiology, typically using large administrative claims and electronic health records data. In collaboration with faculty, communicates with collaborators and contributes to drafting manuscripts for publication in scientific journals. Contributes to the identification of areas of future research, initiates new projects and submits grant proposals with the support of faculty. Supervises diverse and multidisciplinary project teams, ensuring that projects achieve their stated goals and adhere to their established timelines. Oversees the performance and guides research activities including application of appropriate statistical methods, interpretation of results, reporting, and communication of results. Creates complex scientific protocols, statistical analysis plans, abstracts, reports, and publications, and oversees execution of the same and composes detailed specifications for study databases and analysis files, consistency checks, tables, and figures; communicate requirements to the data analysts.
