**SUMMARY** Provides essential support to the Principal Investigator (PI) and gives scientific input in the field of low-level blast environment characterization. Oversees field research data collection activities conducted at various military and law enforcement training settings. **ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES** + Participates in all aspects of research to include study design and overseeing, collecting, managing, processing, analyzing, and reporting data. + Establishes and maintains relationships with volunteer cohort leadership and other collaborators. + Serves as a liaison between research output and stakeholders. + Manages human subjects protocol documentation and regulatory files. + Maintains regular and punctual attendance. + Performs other duties as assigned. **SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES** None. **MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS** + Master’s degree in mathematics, physics, engineering, or related field with relevant work experience (PhD preferred). + Experience using SAS, SPSS, Matlab, C, C+, C++, Java or other programming/statistical language. + Must be able to obtain Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12) clearance. + Must obtain and maintain any necessary security access and/or background checks (U.S. citizenship required). **DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS** + Experience in a blast research setting actively involved in study design, or equivalent experience a plus. + Military experience is a plus. + Excellent critical thinking, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills. + Demonstrates ability to prioritize, organize, problem-solve, and coordinate daily activities to support effective improvement in individual patients. + Have strong leadership/management skills and be responsible for directing and guiding research staff and study participants. + Demonstrates knowledge, skill, and ability to use basic office automation and information management equipment and programs (i.e., word processing, database management, email, etc.). + Communicate in a diplomatic and professional manner with research staff and study participants. + Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with a diverse group of people for the purpose of informing the healthcare team of plans/actions, for teaching/education to benefit the patient/family and organization. + Excellent written communication skills to perform accurate documentation, both written and electronic, of all activity in accordance with requirements. **Job Requirements:** **WORK SCHEDULE** Full-time. May be required to work additional hours as needed to complete assignment or project. **TRAVEL** Travel to various research sites within and outside of the United States. Valid passport required.
