We are looking for a full time Research Scientist for the Vanderbilt Stress and Early Adversity (SEA) Lab, a fast-paced highly collaborative interdisciplinary research group exploring child development, the early caregiving environment, brain development during period of dramatic change, and interventions to improve child and family functioning.
Under the supervision of Dr. Kathryn Humphreys, the individual in this position will have primary responsibility for processing and analyzing data, writing grant applications, writing manuscripts for publication, contributing to the design and execution of funded studies, and supervision of other lab members in written products (e.g., program milestones, fellowship applications, and manuscripts). The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of postdoctoral research experience, demonstrated interest in early life adversity, and strong quantitative, writing, and data management skills. Preferred experience includes experience writing grants, data (either a role involving data management or data analysis), and providing oversight of projects to completion.

Supervisory Relationships
This position has no official supervisory responsibilities. This position reports administratively and functionally to Dr. Humphreys.
Education and Certifications
Ph.D. in psychology required Must be extremely organized, detail oriented, and able to function well under deadlines Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment Ideally 2+ years of postdoctoral research experience Ability to work independently while embracing the collaborative nature of our research team History of successful grant writing History of lead author publications in field leading peer-reviewed journals Strong quantitative skills relevant to longitudinal and nested data is required Data cleaning and data management experience Competencies in open science documentation practices (Rmarkdown, annotating code, sharing preprints via github and OSF) Experience in the assessment of stress and adversity; coding of caregiver–child interactions; fMRI; and working with data from randomized controlled trials Expected to have a strong work ethic, high integrity, and good interpersonal skills
