Colgate-Palmolive is seeking a highly motivated and proactive research scientist with a track record of excellence in Gas chromatography analysis on our flavors team
**Responsibilities**
+ Design experiments and develop methods using appropriate analytical techniques mainly GC, GC-MS and LC-MS to enhance our capabilities to be able to analyse unique products and materials.
+ Performs GC and GC-MS analysis in accordance with standard procedures for flavor raw materials, compounded flavors, flavors in oral care formulations.
+ Collaborates with various partners (Flavor creative team, Product Development, Implementation and Support, Quality, Packaging) on flavor testing to drive innovation and advance various research programs.
+ Troubleshooting of flavor related customers complaints, counterfeits, manufacturing and compounding, non-conformances, out of specification results.
+ Flavor analytical support and guidance to Global Technology Centers and manufacturing sites globally.
+ Supports and conducts Flavor Technology Transfer globally
+ Supports Global Flavor Quality program – SOP preparation and revision, method validation, analyst training and qualification.
+ Maintains various databases, results reporting, and extract information from SAP.
+ Prepares reports and presentations to summarize flavor research findings and project updates.
+ Responsibilities for day-to-day operation and maintenance of analytical instrumentation – troubleshooting, adjustments, calibration, performance qualification, ordering supplies and consumables
**Required Qualifications**
+ Bachelor’s Degree
+ 5+ years of experience with PhD or 8+ years with Bachelor's Degree
+ Experience in flavor/fragrance or consumer goods industry in a global environment related to research and quality
+ Knowledge and experience in sample preparation techniques and analytical instrumentation: GC FID, GC MS, LC MS.
+ Strong understanding of aroma chemicals, natural essential oils, compounded flavors and consumer products
+ Experience in Lab data systems, instrument control systems and data systems (SAP)
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Master's Degree or PhD
+ Excellent communication and presentation skills (written/verbal)
+ Project management skills with the ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously and effectively prioritize
+ Ability to initiate and maintain excellent working relationships across various departments
+ Strong research aptitude, troubleshooting skills, problem solver, attention to detail, collaborative, creative and open minded.
**Compensation and Benefits**
Salary Range $114,000.00 - $128,000.00 USD
Pay is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location. Salaried employees may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing, and long-term incentives for Executive-level roles.
Benefits: Salaried employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, paid parental leave, disability coverage, and participation in the 401(k) retirement plan with company matching contributions subject to eligibility requirements. Additional benefits include a minimum of 15 vacation/PTO days (hourly employees receive a minimum of 120 hours) and 13 paid holidays (vacation days are prorated based on the employee's hire date within the calendar year). Paid sick leave is adjusted based on role and location in accordance with local laws. Detailed information regarding paid sick leave entitlements will be provided to employees upon hiring and may be subject to adjustments based on changes in legislation or company policies.
