**Job Summary**
Dr. Bismarck Odei, MD, Assistant Professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology at the Huntsman Cancer Institute, is seeking a motivated and organized Part-Time Research Assistant to join his research team.
Dr Odei’s research interests include optimization of prostate cancer treatments outcome and decreasing treatment toxicity, incorporating biomarker use for prognostication and predictive evaluation in prostate cancers, and the utilization of artificial intelligence for molecular or imaging signatures to inform oncology management decisions. He also focuses on gender differences in the academic medical workforce, health politics and policy, and research to improve access for disadvantaged patients in healthcare.

**Responsibilities**
**Key Responsibilities:**
**Research Portfolio Management:** Assist in organizing and managing Dr. Odei’s research projects, ensuring they progress smoothly and reach successful completion.
**Data Collection and Supervision:** Collect research data and supervise others in data collection efforts, maintaining high standards of accuracy and organization.
**Writing and Literature Review:** Conduct literature reviews to support ongoing research, and contribute to the writing of manuscripts and grant proposals.
**Team Collaboration:** Work closely with Dr. Odei and other members of the research team, ensuring effective communication and collaboration across different disciplines.
**Research Support:** Provide general support for research activities, including handling administrative tasks, maintaining records, and coordinating project timelines.
**Analysis Support:** Provide basic analysis of research data. [Statistical analysis or programming support is not a prerequisite, but would bring value]

**Graduate Student or Recent Graduate:** Current graduate student or recent graduate from a health science Masters program or a related field, with a keen interest in research.
**Strong Writing Skills:** Demonstrated ability in scientific writing, with great attention to detail.
**Organized and Efficient:** Able to manage multiple tasks effectively, prioritize responsibilities, and maintain an organized workflow.
**Self-Motivated and Responsible:** Shows initiative, works independently, detail-oriented, and is reliable in meeting deadlines and responsibilities.
**Team-Oriented:** Comfortable working as part of a team, particularly in an interdisciplinary environment, and able to navigate interprofessional dynamics effectively.
**Eager to Learn:** Open to acquiring new skills and knowledge as needed, with a proactive approach to personal and professional development. Opportunities to learn on the job and develop new skills will be provided.
**Good communication skills:** Clarity in communication. Able to articulate research information in a group setting.
**Commitment:** Ideally looking for someone who can commit to this role for at least 2-3 years, to make a meaningful contribution to Dr. Odei’s research program.
