Chevron Phillips Chemical Company LP (CPChem) is seeking a Research Technician for the Process Development Lab in Kingwood, TX. The primary function of this position is to perform day to day laboratory functions and supporting several continuous flow reactors for catalyst testing. **Primary Responsibilities:** + Ensure the lab is in full compliance with all safety, environmental and health regulations and procedures. + Monitor and perform routine duties on continuous lab scale units. + Perform inspections on safety relief devices. + Assist in equipment troubleshooting and maintenance. + Submit samples for analysis. + Maintain inventory of chemicals and required equipment for safe operations through tracking and ordering as needed, in accordance to company policies. + Utilize open and effective communication with engineers, chemists, and other functional support personnel. + Maintain accurate documentation regarding operational changes, procedures, catalyst and process testing, and other records. **Required Qualifications:** + Associate of Applied Science in Process Technology with at least 1 year experience in a process laboratory operating or servicing continuous, bench scale-unit operations. + Experience performing preventative maintenance inspections for laboratory safety equipment. + Experience with compression fittings and tubing (e.g. Swagelok) + Able to read and interpret process flow diagrams and process & instrumentation diagrams. + Experience with site safety programs or committees, such as OSHA VPP. **Preferred Qualifications:** + Knowledge and familiarity with gas chromatographs + Knowledge and familiarity with handling flammable and hazardous materials + Experience using AutoCAD or other drafting software for routine edits to unit drawings.
