Research assistant/technician for a virology lab with a focus on tumor viruses. The research in the lab will cover a diverse array of techniques and studies with the goal of understanding the mechanisms of tumor virus oncogenes and their roles in pathogenesis using bioinformatics, molecular biology, 2D cell culture models, and in vivo animal work. The successful candidate will maintain daily operation of the laboratory with guidance from the principal investigator. The successful candidate will also be expected to help establish and maintain standards operating procedures for mouse colony which will include breeding. Other duties will include initiating and carrying out the development and performance of diverse experiments and assays.
