Position Summary:
Under the direction of the immediate supervisor, performs a variety of specialized technical tasks according to different research protocols in the field of MRI.
Has a thorough comprehension of the applied principles and applications of Magnetic Resonance.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure that the technical support needs of the unit meet established quality standards, goals and objectives.
Perform a variety of specialized technical tasks, sets up materials and equipment.
Participates in projects and experiments in the field of MRI. Assumes responsibility for the technical aspects in the execution of these projects.
Do quality assurance of the equipment.
Technical guidance and assistance concerning work methods, the use of equipment and accompanied technical material to researchers using the MR facilities.
Ensures compliance with safety regulations in the use and storage of equipment.
Ensures cleanliness and safety of the work area.
Compiles experimental and analytical data.
Participates in devising new methodology. Maintains records and files.
Participates in animal handling.

Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities:
DEC III in Nuclear medicine is required. Experience in nuclear medicine will be an asset but is not required. Good proficiency using Microsoft office tools such as excel. Knowledge in nuclear medicine neuroimaging and PET. Good experience with radiotracer dose calibration, manipulation and administration. Demonstrated Social and interpersonal skills. Team player and dedication to the work at hand. Ability to work autonomously and apply good judgment contextually. Willingness to learn new imaging and data analysis techniques. Good communications skills in French and English. Must have a valid license by being a member of the Ordre des technologues en imagerie médicale, en radio-oncologie et en électrophysiologie médicale du Québec (OTIMROEPMQ).
Knowledge of French and English: McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing. The level of English required for this position has been assessed at a level # 2 to 3 on a scale of 0-4.”
