Research Technician II - Choi Lab

Innovative research and groundbreaking discoveries happen every day at Cleveland Clinic. The Younho Choi Lab studies the molecular mechanism of immunopathogenesis of emerging tick-borne viruses including severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome virus.
A caregiver in this position works 8:00am – 5:00pm.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Perform laboratory techniques and procedures required for experimental studies.
Perform technical lab duties.
Schedule and perform various analyses.
Assist with establishing and scheduling various procedures and analyses.
Prepare reagents, purify chemicals, and identify, separate and quantify various substances.
Conduct testing and procedures utilizing laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
Accumulate data from analyses.
Prepare charts, graphs, statistical tables, publications, grant proposals and applications for research forms.
Complete six months of on-the-job training to become familiar with laboratory techniques, procedures and research protocols
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Knowledge of quantitative and statistical methods normally attained through completion of a bachelor's degree in a biological science major or a related field of study.
Knowledge of basic laboratory procedures, techniques, methods and analysis sufficient to perform a variety of research protocols.
A minimal amount of applicable experience may substitute the education requirement.
