The job will involve assisting graduate students and postdoctoral fellows with cellular, molecular biology, and genetic techniques to study cancer metastasis. We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual, who has some experience with working in a laboratory environment, outside of a class setting. The successful applicant will have the ability to interact with senior members of the lab and work closely together with them: follow instructions and as skills develop also contribute their own insights in order to trouble shoot and set up experiments. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a dynamic and stimulating scientific environment. The Egeblad laboratory is focused on identifying the cellular and molecular mechanisms that drive metastasis and cancer therapy resistance. Technically, the lab combines mouse models, intravital imaging, primary cell co-cultures, cell biology, molecular genetics, bulk and single cell sequencing, spatial transcriptomics and advanced microscopy to understand how specific immune cells regulate cancer cell metastasis and therapy resistance. Research in the lab makes extensive use of mouse models, co-cultures of primary cells isolated from genetically engineered mouse models and from patient tissue, and of microscopy. **Specific Duties & Responsibilities** + Perform laboratory tasks and complete routine assays following common or established protocols and procedures, including culturing of established cell lines and primary cells, and performing immune staining and flow cytometry using established markers. + Gain problem solving skills through progressive training, understanding of the research, and experience. + Run lab tests and complete measurements assigned by senior graduate students and postdoctoral fellows. + Identify and resolves common problems involved in routine research assays. Understands the role of senior lab members and accepts constructive guidance. + Set-up experiments based on defined standards. + Collect project data. + Perform related laboratory maintenance, monitoring inventory of supplies, cleaning equipment. + Work with animal colonies, including assisting with maintaining the animal colonies and performing animal experiments (training will be provided). **Minimum Qualifications** + Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Chemistry or related field. + Some related post-undergraduate work experience preferred. + Some related laboratory work experience. + Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond HS Diploma/Graduation Equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula. **Preferred Qualifications** + Some related laboratory work experience preferred.
