Research Test Engineer (BSME)

Responsible for conducting vibration and temperature tests on electronic components, working with environmental and mechanical instrumentation, and applying mechanical engineering principles in a test lab environment.

Job Requirements Minimum 8 years of experience in preparation, planning, setup, and execution of vibration and temperature tests on electronic components Minimum 8 years of experience instrumenting test items with accelerometers for modal testing Minimum 8 years of experience performing modal analysis from collected data Minimum 8 years of experience operating digital vibration controllers for broad band random, swept sine, classical shock, and shock synthesis tests Minimum 8 years of experience conducting dynamic and climatic tests per approved procedures, safety standards, and organizational policies Minimum 8 years of experience instrumenting test items with thermocouples and conducting temperature/humidity chamber tests Minimum 8 years of experience instrumenting test items with accelerometers and conducting vibration equipment tests Knowledge of basic electronics theory and mechanical aptitude Understanding of structural dynamics, random vibration theory, and digital signal analysis Familiarity with accelerometer, thermocouple, and strain gage instrumentation Experience setting up and operating vibration test equipment and temperature/humidity chambers Experience using oscilloscopes, voltmeters, and other basic lab equipment Preferred Skills Experience operating digital vibration controllers for environmental testing Ability to support environmental development, qualification, and production tests on electronic components Experience recommending and implementing lab equipment and procedure improvements Thorough understanding of electromechanical shaker operation and digital vibration controller concepts Basic understanding of aerospace environments and their application in test labs Knowledge of random vibration and signal processing fundamentals Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously Technical writing experience for test reports and procedures Job Responsibilities Conduct vibration and temperature tests on electronic components in an environmental test lab setting Operate and maintain environmental and mechanical instrumentation for testing purposes Analyze test data and generate reports documenting findings Ensure proper equipment calibration and adherence to safety and testing standards Recommend and implement improvements to lab operations and procedures

Active secret clearance preferred; ability to obtain required.



Pay Details: $80.00 to $88.00 per hour
