Join AIR as a Researcher Intern with our Workforce Development program area, as we support the healthy, productive, and evolving workforce vital to the United States’ economy and democracy. The internship period may range from October 2024 through the end of April 2025 depending on student availability and project needs. This Intern position will be part-time capacity at 12-14 hours per week.

 

Candidates hired for the position may work remotely within the United States (U.S.) or from one of our U.S. office locations. This does not include U.S. territories.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities for the position include:

Conduct systematic literature reviews to support research activitiesAssist staff in the review, identification and development of scholarly information describing research findingsParticipate in the collection, analysis, and review of research and evaluation dataDevelop spreadsheets and data bases to support project activitiesAnalyze quantitative and qualitative research data and contribute to the reporting and interpretation of findingsSupport communication, dissemination and outreach activities as needed Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, and Experience:

Must be a current student for the duration of the internship and enrolled in a Doctoral degree program in such fields as economics, psychology, sociology, statistics, computer science, public policy, public health or other social science related fields. Experience with and/or knowledge of data collection and analysis methodologies and techniques, such as survey design, analysis of program administrative data, and conduct of structured interviews, observations, and focus groups Experience using statistical software programs such as R, SPSS, or Stata to clean and analyze large data sets is requiredKnowledge and skills with multivariate statistical analyses are required

Skills:

Dependable and comfortable working independently and as a member of a team Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy when writingEffective communicator that can work with individuals at all levels and from diverse backgroundsExcellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate efficiently in a virtual work environmentProficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite or the equivalent (word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software)Proficiency with statistical software and analyses of large data sets

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis. Employment-based visa sponsorship (including H-1B sponsorship) is not available for this position. Depending on project work, qualified candidates may need to meet certain residency requirements.

This position offers $30.00 per hour. Salary offers are made based on internal equity within the organization and external equity with competitive markets. Please note this is the salary for candidates that are based in the United States.
