Researcher on Algorithmic solutions for self-operating network software systems

One of the key challenges of today’s network and software industry is to achieve full autonomy of networked systems, but still with allowing human supervision and intervention possibilities. This should be achieved in a highly heterogeneous environment, that integrate various technologies, physical and virtualized assets, multiple vendors and management platforms. Your role in this researcher position will be to discover new, disruptive algorithmic solutions that

Provide joint optimization, resolution and tradeoff evaluation for multiple potentially conflicting system requirements, applying intent based, declarative, closed loop control based approaches  Enable data and knowledge based autonomous decisions of systems composed of multiple entities themselves autonomously operating; ensure convergence, provide observability, analyze and predict emergent behaviors of these highly decentralized systems, applying advanced artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques

Your research work will cover evaluation of the performance, applicability and security implications of the solutions you provide, either by mathematical analysis, realistic computer simulations or measurements based on prototype implementations.

You are an ideal candidate, if

You have PhD degree or You are a PhD candidate in computer science, applied mathematics, electrical engineering, telecommunications, or similar fields; or You have MSc degree in any of these fields with minimum 5 years of relevant experience.  You have experience in modelling and evaluation of complex networked systems and in designing and implementing algorithms applicable on these You are familiar with and have practical experience in some of the following fields: neural networks; advances in machine learning (e.g. MARL, RL, federated learning, etc.); decision theory; game theory; non-deterministic optimization; control theory; distributed systems theory; system security;  You are familiar with some simulation environments and/or mathematics software; you have developed your own software components for earlier research  Having background in network and software security and/or in quantum communications or quantum computing is an advantage Having experience and theoretical background in system security and/or quantum communications is an advantage. You are based in Hungary and You meet all employment conditions in Hungary Your work will be contributing to research initiatives within the Network Systems and Security Research laboratory;  You will be part of multinational, multi-site collaboration projects across the organisation and to joint research projects conducted with Nokia business groups Your responsibilities include identifying and executing concrete research tasks within the scope described above and fitting into the objectives of these projects.  You will be expected to widely disseminate your results, including presentations and demonstrations to internal and technical audiences as well as research papers in international journals and conferences.  You will also have to contribute to generating Nokia intellectual property
