Faculty/Professional Professional Department Residence Life Office Local Title Complex Director Budget Title Residence Hall Director Rank SL-2 Line Number 43104 Salary Range $51,261 FTE Full-Time Negotiating Unit UUP FLSA Exempt Department Website http://residencelife.buffalostate.edu Brief Job Description The Complex Director (CD) is a 12-month live-in appointment and is a frontline manager/educator of the student population in one or more residence halls. A primary focus of the CD is the development of a residential theme area which may include the first-year experience, upper-class housing, or apartment and family college. Responsibilities of the CD include: supervision, training, and development of undergraduate student staff and graduate assistants; community development; 24-hour crisis intervention; educational and social programming for the residential population; community council advisor; facilities management; serves as a conduct officer for student conduct and community standards and a special advising assignment. Included among work and on-call responsibilities are emergency and crisis response duties, including those that occur after traditional business hours and on weekends. This position is considered an essential-critical position. Summer responsibilities will be assigned, such as summer hall director, conference director, or roles in other summer projects. Required Qualifications + Bachelor’s Degree along with experience in the residence life setting. + Experience supervising student staff or advising student leaders; + Ability to communicate effectively within a diverse population of students, faculty and staff; + Proficiency in Microsoft Office Preferred Qualifications + Master’s Degree in college student personnel administration, higher education, or college counseling and development. + Experience supervising graduate assistant staff or master’s level interns in a college/university setting. + Experience coordinating student conduct hearings. + Experience with emergency response, crisis management, or student care follow up + Experience managing keys, room changes or other occupancy or operations tasks Anticipated Date of Hire 07/01/2025 Priority Review Date 03/09/2025 Application Deadline Date Open Until Filled Yes Special Instructions to Applicant Candidates who are participating in The Placement Exchange should place their TPE Candidate Number on their resume and cover letter.
