Job Description Summary

Responsible for the coordination of projects, including small tenant improvements, assignments, capital improvements and building or site repairs for properties; may provide project management support to Project Managers or Directors for designated projects.

About the role

§  Ensure that the construction of the data center strictly follows the approved architectural designs, specifications, and project plans.

Review and interpret architectural drawings, plans, and specifications to ensure accurate implementation on site.

§  Provide architectural guidance and support to the construction team to resolve any design-related issues that arise during construction.

§  Quality Assurance: Conduct regular site inspections to assess the quality of architectural finishes, such as flooring, ceilings, walls, partitions, and external facades.

o   Review and approve samples of materials and finishes submitted by contractors.

o   Identify and report any non-conformances or defects in architectural works and ensure timely rectification.

§  Compliance: Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal health, safety, and environmental regulations, as well as company standards and policies.

§  Risk Assessment: Conduct regular risk assessments and job hazard analyses to identify potential hazards and implement appropriate control measures.

§  Inspections and Audits: Conduct regular site inspections and audits to monitor compliance with Architectural standards. Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.

§  Reporting: Prepare and submit regular inspection reports, including SOR reports, audit findings, and compliance metrics, to senior management and client bodies.

§  Emergency Response: Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures. Coordinate emergency drills and ensure readiness for potential emergencies.

1.0 - Project Specific:

 

1.1   Architectural Supervision and Inspection, Coordination and Communication

 

§  Act as the primary point of contact between the design team and the construction team, ensuring clear and effective communication.

§  Coordinate with other professionals, including structural engineers, MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) engineers, and contractors, to ensure seamless integration of architectural elements with other systems.

§  Participate in regular site meetings, providing updates on architectural progress and addressing any issues that may impact the design or construction schedule.

 

1.2   Technical Support and Problem Solving:

 

§  Provide technical expertise and support to address any architectural challenges encountered during the construction process.

§  Offer practical solutions to on-site issues while maintaining the integrity of the architectural design.

§  Review and approve shop drawings, material submissions, and other contractor proposals related to architectural work.

 

1.3   Documentation and Reporting

 

§  Maintain detailed records of architectural inspections, site observations, and any changes or modifications made during construction.

§  Prepare and submit regular reports to the project manager and design team, documenting progress, issues, and any deviations from the design.

§  Ensure that all necessary as-built documentation is accurately completed and filed.

 

1.4   Stakeholder Coordination & Client Liaison

 

§  Liaise with the client to ensure that their needs and expectations are being met throughout the construction process.

§  Provide updates to the client on the architectural aspects of the project and address any concerns they may have.

 

1.5   Testing and Commissioning

 

§  Participate in the final inspection and commissioning of the data center, ensuring that all architectural elements meet the required standards before handover to the client.

§  Oversee the resolution of any final defects or issues identified during the handover process.

 

 

2.0 - Cushman & Wakefield Specific:

 

2.1 - Project Team Specific:

 

§  Work with project team and support project team to be cohesive and facilitate a team culture

§  Full-time position, based on the construction site.

§  May require working extended hours, including weekends and public holidays, depending on the project schedule.

§  The role involves exposure to construction site environments, including noise, dust, and varying weather conditions.

§  Be aware of the Cushman & Wakefield values and policies and provide example by conducting yourself in accordance with these tenets.

§  Keep team member involved and informed; provide feedback, coaching & mentoring for team(s) with regards to scheduling.

§  Resolve difficult personnel situations directly, using appropriate discretion, Project Director and HR advice and respect for the individual.

 

2.2 - Business Specific:

 

§  Support Cushman & Wakefield submissions as a Subject Matter Expert (SME).

§  Assist with business improvement and innovation initiatives.

§  Work with Alternate Assets Lead to support other regions.

 

2.3 - Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

 

§  Adherence to Cushman & Management values.

§  Report on projects status involving quality, cost and time impact.

§  Ensure both internal and external Customer satisfaction is managed.

§  Adhere to all Cushman & Wakefield company policies and procedures.

§  Ensures accuracy and thoroughness in all aspects of Architectural Works as per specification and tolerances.

§  Approval of architectural shop drawings and material approval request.

§  Demonstrates strong leadership skills in promoting a safety culture and ensuring compliance with Architectural standards.

§  Effectively communicates Architectural specification, drawings, and expectations to all project personnel.

§  Takes initiative to identify potential Architectural issues and proactively addresses them.

Works effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders to achieve project goals.

About you

§  Bachelor’s degree in architecture or a related field.

§  Registered Architect with the Board of Architects Malaysia (LAM) is preferred.

§  Minimum of 7 years of experience in architectural practice, with at least 3 years in a similar role overseeing large-scale construction projects, preferably data centers or mission-critical facilities.

§  Strong knowledge of architectural design, construction methods, materials, and finishes.

§  Familiarity with local building codes, regulations, and standards in Malaysia.

§  Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural drawings and specifications.

§  Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.

§  Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.

§  Ability to work independently and make informed decisions on site.
