Resident Civil Engineer

Our Nuclear Projects group is a Tier 1 provider to the U.S. Department of Energy, we deliver safe and innovative solutions at complex nuclear cleanup and production sites. Our services include program management, decommissioning, environmental remediation, waste and nuclear material management, nuclear operations, consulting, engineering, and construction. We are looking to add a Resident Civil Engineer to our growing team on our project located in Scoville, ID which resides about 55 miles outside of Idaho Falls. 

The Resident Civil Engineer will be the onsite point of contact for resolution of civil scope questions and design changes, as required. The Resident Civil Engineer should have strong construction background and be well versed in standards for civil site layout, grading and drainage, roadways and paving, and surveying. The ideal candidate will have some project management experience such as writing proposals, writing change orders, interpreting building codes and writing white papers, etc. The Civil Engineer acts as a technical resource on specifications, codes and standards, design requirements, construction methods, problem resolution, and constructability issues.

Qualifications\:

Bachelors of Science degree in Civil Engineering  3 or more years of experience  MicroStation and AutoCAD/C3D expertise

Preferred Qualifications\:

Person already residing in Southeast Idaho 5 or more years of experience Professional Engineer License in the state of Idaho (or ability to obtain within 12 months) Prior experience with the Idaho National Laboratory, DOE, and/or Naval Reactors Facility is desirable Knowledge of building and design codes, including IBC, IMS, UPC, NFPA, and ASME

Essential Functions\:

Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting. Lifting requirements limited to 20 lbs. in the form of supplies, drawings, etc. Longest distance carried of 50 feet. Hand manipulation is required for simple grasping, pushing and pulling, and fine manipulation. Right and/or left hands utilized. Occasional need to reach and/or work above the shoulder, for supplies, as well as below the shoulder for same. Must be alert to equipment in the field, there will be occasional travel, will work near construction job site equipment when in the field, occasional need to work near hazardous equipment and machinery, occasional need to walk on uneven ground, exposure to dust, gas or fumes, exposure to noise, extremes in temperature or humidity, and potential work at heights.
