HDR is in need of a Resident Project Representative (RPR) to observe water and wastewater utility construction activities in the Winston-Salem, North Carolina area.
Primary Responsibilities:
The Resident Project Representative will be responsible for construction observation and documentation for general conformance with the construction contract.
Work with general supervision from the HDR Project Manager.Maintain accurate daily record of construction site conditions and activities; significant events, issues, or problems; and communications between parties.Photograph construction progress and catalog photos for future reference.Produce required reports on Contractor’s progress, quality, schedule, and budget status.Review Contractor pay requests, including stored materials.Work with the HDR Project Manager to evaluate project schedules and prepare status reports.Attend coordination meetings and regular construction progress meetings with the Owner and the Contractor.Possess a fundamental understanding of contracts and familiarity with codes and laws governing construction. Additional duties may require coordination and supervision of construction materials testing and Special Inspections services. Preferred Qualifications5 years of experience in the field, observing and documenting daily construction work activities (ideally Water / Wastewater).Previous experience as a Lead RPR, Lead Inspector or Construction Superintendent. Experience with preparing Daily Inspection Reports, Nonconformance Notifications, and other reports or documentation. Experience with construction scheduling, cost controls, and quality (quality control/quality assurance). Thorough knowledge of materials, methods and equipment used on multi-disciplinary construction projects. Able to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications and identify discrepancies or conflicts within documents. Willingness to adhere to all HDR and OSHA safety policies/standards. Must possess or be willing to acquire OSHA 10-Hour construction safety certification.Able to work in a team environment. Experience in water/wastewater treatment plant construction inspection.Experience in water/wastewater pipeline construction inspection.Experience in a water treatment, wastewater treatment or pump station facility either as a Contractor, an operator or as a Consultant.Experience with Microsoft Project, Primavera, or similar software packages used on design and construction projects is a plus.Local candidates are preferred.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Technology, or combination of education and relevant experienceDemonstrated construction experience on multidisciplinary projectsMust have a fundamental understanding of contracts and familiarity with codes and laws governing constructionMust possess the ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications and identify discrepancies or conflicts within documentsMust be able to work in a team environmentMust be computer literate, experience with Microsoft Office, Primavera, or related construction packages Must have excellent verbal and written communication skillsAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a mustWhat We Believe
