Stantec’s Construction Services Team is look for a Resident Project Representative in Auburn, NH!

This is an opportunity to work on challenging and diverse tasks in a consulting and construction administration and observation role that will require application of technical skills, project delivery, and monitoring for construction projects. These projects consist of transportation infrastructure including roads, bridges and culverts, utilities, municipal water and sewer systems, drainage and stormwater infrastructure.

You will perform a variety of tasks which may include calculations, field observation, report writing, construction quality assurance activities, overseeing project testing, coordination of project tasks, participation in team meetings, reviewing change order requests, and developing project schedules.

Your primary duties will consist of Resident Project Representative (RPR) activities on a variety of different projects. These activities include construction observation, writing daily field reports, and coordinating with the Stantec Project Manager, Owner, and Contractor.

Your Key Responsibilities Daily construction monitoring and reporting, checking for conformance with plans and specifications. Communicating with and making recommendations to Project Manager, design professionals, client, owner, developer, or contractor, but does not direct the means or methods of construction.  Provide the Project Manager with updates on project progress or delays to client, design professionals, and/or Contractor. Review change orders and field orders for reasonableness of pricing and constructability. Review requests for information, submittals, construction schedules, shop drawings and pay applications (QA/QC). Prepare documents and maintains file management of project-related information including correspondence, reports, and photographs. Support civil engineering design which may include engineering drawings, specifications, calculations, engineering reports, cost estimates, design criteria, and prepare applications for regulatory agencies. Assist in the preparation of engineering project documents, client presentations, client contact and communication pertaining to specific project deliverables. Assist in the development of design through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats. Recognize when technical problems are developing and initiates appropriate corrective actions. Review of as-built plans and documents for conformance to the work. What Will You Need to Succeed? Associate or bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering/Construction Management preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience. OSHA 10 Hour Training, or ability to obtain. Working knowledge of construction principles, techniques and procedures, occupational hazards and safety precautions.  Take initiative on tasks and in coordinating with other members of the project team, obtaining and sharing necessary information. Strong organizational skills and understanding of task assignment and schedule.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to solve problems using sound professional judgment, creativity and innovation. General understanding of concepts of relevant areas of civil engineering design, including gravity and pressure systems, geotechnical, survey, storm water/drainage design, bridges/culverts, road design, erosion and sediment control, grading, and traffic control. Ability to assist with construction estimating on a variety of engineering projects. Understanding of all phases of engineering document production and the relationship between drawings and specifications. Ability to interpret sketches, drawings and other similar material. Ability to use Microsoft Office and Adobe. AutoCAD Civil3D experience is a plus but not necessary. Developing ability to effectively discuss project issues with clients and reviewing agencies. Familiarity with the NHDOT – Local Public Agency (LPA) process. Ability to assist Project Managers with certified payroll reviews for municipally and federally funded projects.

 

Position will work mostly in the field and have some time in an office setting. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather. Must be available to travel for out-of-town projects.
