WHAT WILL I BE DOING?
CHI is looking for a full-time Resident Support Specialist Supervisor for our Wading River location. You will be responsible for All aspects of management for Residential Support Specialist staff within emergency housing programs. Ensuring that quality services are provided effectively and in accordance with guidelines established by CHI, OTDA, Suffolk County Department of Social Services, and other funding sources as appropriate.
• Provide consistent supervision and support for all Residential Support Specialist staff.• Conduct 1 to 1 meetings with members of your team and update the performance goals, accomplishments, notes, and feedback in Paycom on a regular basis (weekly/bi-weekly).
• Ensure RSS staff are up to date and in compliance with all required trainings. Provides on-site training and feedback as needed.
• Responsible for scheduling and coverage of RSS shifts at location.
• Act as a liaison for CHI by implementing timely and effective communication with outside entities.
• De-escalate potential crisis situations and document all situations and interventions.
• Audit logs, incident reports, and all other required documentation to ensure compliance with applicable rules and regulations. Provides guidance on appropriate documentation to RSS staff.
• Conduct fire drills and evacuate the building when necessary.
• Ensure that the program is providing quality services and is compliant with program requirements.
• Educate clients about the program policies and procedures.
• Prevent loss of income to CHI as a result of vacancy loss and lost shelter payments, property, etc.
• Assist the management team in communication as well as being an on-call supervisor.
WHAT DO I NEED?
Education: High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Experience: 2+ years’ experience providing management services or experience in a human services field. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in English required. Bi-lingual (Spanish) is a plus. Computer Skills: Basic competency in MS Windows, MS Office, and internet usage. Physical Performance: Ability to tour properties, walk distances, climb stairs, etc. Reasoning Ability: Ability to prioritize, make appropriate decisions and judgment calls. Other Skills: Ability to work independently or as part of a team, be highly organized, assume responsibility, work well under pressure, meet deadlines, multitask, be flexible, and maintain a high level of attention to details. Must be even-tempered, have good negotiation skills, and the ability to meet unexpected deadlines. Effective time management skills
