POSITON TITLE: Residential Aide—Grave Shift Non-Exempt Position

RESPONSIBLE TO: Residential Aide Supervisor

MAJOR DUTIES: The Residential Aide position works under the supervision of the unit Residential Aide Supervisor. This position provides support in the group living and milieu component of the inpatient program in a non-clinical capacity. This position provides clinical services to agency patients. In fulfilling these duties, the incumbent performs the following duties independently:

1. Ensures an environment that promotes the health and safety of patients;

2. Assist patients as needed with nonclinical needs;

3. Work as part of a treatment team as a non-clinical member;

4. Complete all milieu duties as needed and assigned;

5. Provide advocacy and assist in facilitating access to necessary community resources, sober support systems, and other professionals;

6. Maintain complete and up to date documentation consistent with agency policy;

7. Supports and implements agency policies and procedures; and

8. Other duties as assigned.


POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

1. High School diploma or equivalent;

2. Familiarity with issues specific to addiction and recovery;

3. Current CPR/1st Aid certification required;

4. Good verbal and written communication skills;

5. Great attendance; and

6. Ability to work well with others.


COMPLEXITY

The incumbent provides agency based services to clients in the Inpatient treatment program. Strong communication skills, sound judgment, and creativity are required to help implement and deliver support services that meet the complex needs of the clients.


PERSONAL CONTACTS

Contacts are primarily with the members of the treatment team, clients, and significant others and family members of the clients. All personal contacts are carried out in accordance with federal and state laws dealing with the confidentiality of client records.


GUIDELINES:

Incumbent relies on specialized training and/or equivalent experience and performs duties in accordance with Washington Administrative Codes, Federal regulations governing the confidentiality of client files, and Lifeline Connections Policy and Procedure Manual.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the essential functions of the job, the employee is regularly required to sit, speak clearly, hear and use hands and fingers to manipulate writing utensils and keys on a keyboard. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands or arms stoop, kneel, crouch and/or move a maximum of 20 lbs. Occasional heavy lifting may be required.


WORKING ENVIRONMENT

Working hours are spent indoors in offices or other meeting rooms. Supervision of outdoor activities, visits to community agencies, and participation in staff retreats and staff development activities will be required.


Salary: $17.60 - 18.63/hr DOE
