Residential Construction Manager

David Weekley Homes is looking for a highly motivated professional that is seeking a rewarding opportunity to oversee single-family residential construction while delivering an exceptional customer experience to join our Portland team. The ideal candidate will have previous residential construction management/building experience with a track record of exceeding expectations.

Job Responsibilities:

Managerial oversight of new home constructionPlanning, scheduling, implementation & coordination of quality built homes from development through final construction on a timely & economical basis per Weekley standards, while maintaining a low cost varianceBuilding rapport with customers and maintaining customer satisfaction throughout the building processManaging and inspecting the quality of work that is performed by subcontractorsMaintain a professional, clean and organized job siteCoordinating and completing homebuyer reviewsWorking closely with the sales team, as well as all other Weekley team membersInvolvement in the selection, coordination, oversight & management of people, materials, and budgetsManage worker productivity & compliance with building/safety codesUtilize understanding of contracts, plans, construction methods & regulationsPrepare daily, monthly & quarterly reports
QualificationsPrior residential production building experience is requiredExperience scheduling and supervising subcontractorsExperience in effectively communicating with and interacting with customers and teammatesPrior experience in handling subcontractor payroll and other budgetary responsibilitiesBasic computer skills to work effectively with technology to handle job costing, payroll & communications with team, subcontractors and customersCollege education preferredFlexibility and problem-solving: Work well under pressure, analyze and resolve problems, and act decisively such as when faced with unplanned situations and delaysTeam Player: Must be able to establish good working relationships with a variety of people, including upper management, sales, trades, vendors & customersAbility and willingness to inspect the quality of the work performed by subcontractors and hold them accountable to the David Weekley Homes quality standardsBudget time and priorities effectively in order to meet established goals and deadlines
