Position Summary:

Center For Family Services is seeking a Shift Captain for our Transitions (STAS) program.    Transitions is a community-based treatment stabilization and assessment program offering a caring and supportive healing home for New Jersey youth ages 13-17.  The Shift Captain will assist in the supervision of the youth and staff and leading a team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Provides crisis and ongoing counseling to youth, families, and parents.Provides supervision of staff and leadershipProvides group counseling services as requiredAssists in the supervision of shelter youthAssists in providing shift coverage and completes shift responsibilitiesFollows and enforces all policies and procedures of the shelterAttends program business meetings and other necessary meetings as requiredProvides training for new staff and volunteersMeets regularly with program supervisor for time structuring and other evaluative meetings

Requirements/Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or a related fieldTwo or more years experience working with the program populationLicensed Driver for at least three yearsMust pass an initial and ongoing motor vehicle record check evaluationsExcellent written and verbal communication skills
