Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking compassionate nursingprofessionals to apply for our LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE (LPN) positions. Thisis an excellent entry level nursing opportunity for potential candidates whoare interested in furthering their career and broadening their nursingexperience to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
The LPN is the first level in the series and candidates willdeliver care to our individuals living in a community residential home setting.Our LPNs are an extremely important part of our team, developing relationshipsand working with, not only our individuals, but family members, significantothers, provider agencies and other appropriate parties in order to improve theoverall health/quality of living for those supported by the agency.
Location: Danvers, MA
Duration: 13 weeks to start, but strong chance ofextension
Facility Type: Residential Group Home (MA Dept ofDevelopmental Disabilities)
Schedule: Looking for an LPN part time for 3p-11p or 11p-7ashift, 24 OR 32 hrs/week, able to provide at least every other weekendcoverage. Can be flexible will weekdays.
Start Date: Two weeks from offer (training is duringthe week, 8a-4p)
Duties and Responsibilities (these duties are ageneral summary and not all inclusive):
· Provideexceptional nursing care and oversight by implementing the individuals’ healthcare plan including charting vital signs, application of medical/surgicaldressings, and administering medications as prescribed and directed by theprimary/specialty physician
· Assistwith daily maintenance, personal care and other services of support as outlinedin the Individual Service Plan (ISP); Maintain individual records and files
· Initiatereferrals for needed medical services including scheduling, hospitalsafeguarding, advocacy and other follow-up care; Engage in referral forsupportive and health-related protections
· Communicatehealth issues to staff and update the individuals’ families/guardians inmatters including hospitalizations, rehabilitation support such asphysical/occupational therapy
· Informstaff of any medical concerns related to activity level that may hinder andindividual’s progress
· Ordermedications and maintain medical supplies, materials and equipment
· Initiateemergency medical procedures by applying basic first aid techniques and/or CPRand tracheotomy care, and catheterizations.
· Providetraining for direct support staff on use of equipment and treatments
· Transportindividuals to work, medical appointments, recreational activities and othercommunity engagements as needed
Position Requirements:
· Mustpossess a current, active license to practice as an LPN in the Commonwealth ofMassachusetts.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Demonstratedability to develop and maintain a respectful, caring, tolerant, ethical, andempowering relationship with individuals with intellectual and developmentaldisabilities.
· Capacityto assist/lift individuals with physical disabilities and/or limited mobility.
· Knowledgeof standard nursing policies, procedures, methods and techniques.
· Capacityto maintain accurate records and exercise discretion in handling confidentialinformation.
· Familiaritywith safety practices and medical terminology/abbreviations.
· Aptitudeto transcribe, read and comprehend the English language
