Residential Manager
Job Title: Residential Manager FLSA status: Exempt Position Summary: Supervises all direct support professionals (Overnight awake/asleep, relief and other). Responsible for the quality of direct support services provided in their assigned programs and ensures the daily operation of programs meet federal, state and agency compliance regulations. Essential Functions: • Lifting up to 50lbs • Hand over hand assistance in personal care functions • Frequent twisting, standing, sitting, pushing, pulling and stooping • Frequent driving of a motor vehicle and/or van. • Responsible for implementing key objectives, ensuring high standards of direct care and ongoing monitoring and management of operations in assigned residential programs. • Mathematical aptitude to reconcile monetary accounts, adheres to established budgets, schedule appropriately and control operational expenses within assigned areas of responsibility. • Functional and situational reasoning ability to gather and apply factual information, exercise sound judgment, problem solve and apply principles of influence systems such as motivation, team building, accountability, coaching/counseling of staff and leadership within the scope of the position. • Cross-functional communication skills, which convey clear direction, desired results and vision to direct reports, individuals/families served, government agencies, peers and senior management. • Ensure operational and service standard compliance of all federal, state and agency policies within assigned residential programs. • On call responsibilities and ability to work an average of 45-55 hours. Additional Responsibilities: • Collaborates with Division Director, Management peers and direct reports in the planning, management and fulfillment of agency short/long term goals. • In partnership with Division Director and Human resources department, conducts staff supervisions, provides coaching counseling, performance management, staff development, staff evaluations and assesses staff training needs with consistency. Rev. 8.26.13 • Ensures staffing and scheduling meet program needs and adheres to payroll budget. • Conducts interviews, reference checks and program orientation with applicants & newly hired staff in accordance with organization policy, state & federal labor laws. • Completes all administrative functions for assigned programs, compliancy, supported individuals, agency and direct reports within the required time frames • Enhance and promote The Arc of Opportunity’s strategic initiatives, overall brand and organizational mission and values through positive promotion and representation. • Acts as primary leadership mentor for residential staff and interdisciplinary team members providing necessary developmental training support and ensuring mandatory training compliance in assigned programs. • Maintains required certification and recertification as required and in accordance with agency, state and federal guidelines. • Must work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays to provide management oversight effectively and provide hands on assistance in direct care regularly. • Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: A valid driver’s license and acceptable CORI are required at all times during employment with The Arc of Opportunity. • Bachelor’s Degree in relative field of study and a minimum of one year experience in related field. OR • A minimum of two years’ experience in relevant field and enrolled in an advanced study or relevant certification program. Monday to Friday 8 am to 4 pm 40 Hours/Week
