The Resource Manager works with Practice Managers and Business Operations to execute the resource management mechanism. The individual will manage daily responsibilities and projects independently and influence multiple stakeholders. They will use their in-depth experience to support the Professional Services Sales and Delivery Practice teams. Resource Managers manage multiple assignments and projects concurrently, prioritizing accordingly – within and outside of their team, including actively participating in relevant transformation work streams. They escalate matters that may have increased business risks at the right time.
The ideal candidate will possess a mix of Consulting, Strategic Planning, Analytics, and Operations background. They will have demonstrated experience providing strong business analytics, and delivering on projects of all sizes. They must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. This means you are able to roll up your sleeves, dig in and get the job done. In this role you will anticipate bottlenecks, make trade-offs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints. Maturity, high judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence, analytical talent and leadership are essential to success in this role.
Key job responsibilities
• Lead regular reviews with ProServe leadership teams to monitor business efficiency, work through conflicts, identify opportunities for improvement, and drive action to deliver improvements
• Identify, participate in and adopt system and process improvement initiatives to strengthen the resource management process;
• Proactively spot forecasted bench time for consultants and collaborate with practice managers where appropriate to identify future assignments that match consultant skillset.
• Prepare regular supply and/or demand analysis for Practice PMs and Resource Management leadership
• Constantly monitor resource assignments and timecard data to ensure accuracy of forecast to reduce estimated vs. actual time variance;
• Liaise with Practice Management in fulfillment of project staffing requests, prioritizing resource requests and resolving resource allocation conflicts for the division or project assigned
• Work with engagement and practice managers to review and design resourcing plans to execute against project deliverables while leveraging the best available staffing from internal ProServe resources, Global Competency Centers, and partners;
• Develop strong relationships with leaders and consultants within practices, understand individual skills, goals, aspirations and development needs in order to assign consultants, balancing developmental needs with needs of the business. Conduct utilization review
• Obtain overall understanding of the ProServe business and company solutions. Ability to clarify specific resource needs and technical competencies and essential skills of ProServe builders for resource deployment purposes
• Communicate with PMs/Practice Leadership to ensure information is updated before deadlines.
• Escalate resource allocation conflicts to RMO Leader to allow for resolution.
• Collaborate with supporting organizations such as Sales Ops, HR and IT.
• Support the strategic planning process, the annual, quarterly, and monthly rhythm of business by designing, creating, and providing in-depth business analytics
