Resource Planning Specialist

Purpose:

Reporting to the Delivery Operations Director, this person is responsible for the creation of the Delivery Operations resource plan to ensure the efficient and optimized utilization of installation resources. He/she generates the initial data, evaluates and prepares the resource plan for Delivery Operations in close collaboration with Delivery Operations Managers, Project Managers and Installation Supervisors, ensuring that resources are allocated proactively for these jobs.  He/she is accountable for installation demand vs. capacity, knowing team competences, efficiencies and optimised deployment/allocation of the installation resources (people, equipment and tools). He/she ensures that resource supply is well aligned with the overall FL planning process.

Resource management and allocation

Convert the demand plan into Installation resource requirements specifying KONE resources, subcontractors and other KONE needs. Ensure balanced resource allocation for all operating teams.  On a regular basis, provide high level resource projection vs. demand for the operations team. Confirm frontline installation capacity vs. demand.  Generate and update on a weekly and monthly period, the short (30 days) and medium (60 to 90 days) resource requirement for KONE operations and identify resource constraints and/or opportunities for optimization. Specify resource gaps where identified in the planning horizon.  Assist and provide support to the Delivery Operations Management Team to develop and update the medium and long term Resource Strategy for the company.  Based on the short and medium term resource plan, recommends the allocation of resources for Installation projects of KPI personnel, subcontractors, and other KONE resources based on local supervisor needs within frontline.Escalate status of unresolved short-term installations resource risk to short-term forecast (e.g. RUSH reporting) to unit management, delivery operations managers and installation supervisors.Allocate subcontractor resources for supervisors or assign resources to jobs in installation resource management -tool.  Support delivery operations managers and supervisors in using applicable planning tools and methods. Upon agreement of the Delivery Operations Director, arranges for the availability of external resources to supplement internal operations.  Communicate resource requirement forecasts to local subcontractors and request volume commitment.  Support management of contractors / suppliers used to fulfil the demand (on product and project level) in collaboration with local & area sourcingUse IRMA, RCCP and other KONE WAY IT tools to support installation operations and resourcing. 

Area collaboration 

Responsible for communicating transparent and up to date status of resourcing in the unitResponsible for gathering and issuing accurate schedule for additional capacity needs and release of the teams.  

Resource Analysis & Reporting  

Measure, collate and report key metrics on operations execution performance, resource optimization/efficiencies and plan to actual metrics in support of operations improvement.  Promote proactive and transparent resource planning, analyse deviations and maintain visibility to subcontracting ratio of the unit.Produce a regular (monthly) review of plan effectiveness and gaps on a monthly basis.  Generate lessons learned for improvements
