Job Description

This is a full time position working day shift as a Resource Nurse at Northwest Medical Center.

The Resource RN Supports high-quality, patient-centered care by offering feedback, guidance, and mentoring to new graduate nurses and nurses transitioning to a new specialty.

Provides guidance and education on the hospital’s standard of nursing practice, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with all accrediting and regulatory agency requirements. Escalates concerns about nursing skills, patient care, policies, processes, and equipment as appropriate.

Provides feedback on nursing assessments, nursing diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation of patient care. Serves as an example of professional nursing practice and promotes nursing for the organization, the community, and the healthcare industry. Rounds on new hires, specifically New Grads, in coordination with the hospital general educator.

RN Responder for Brain Attack Team.

Attends rapid responses and codes as needed to observe, provide feedback, and debrief, facilitate education, direction, and coaching before, during, and after the rapid response or code as indicated.

Performs various patient tests and administers medications within the scope of practice of the registered nurse. Performs a wide variety of tasks. Typically reports to a House Supervisor, manager or head of a unit/department.

Prior acute care experience required

Position Qualifications/Minimum Requirements

Education:

Required: Associates or Diploma in nursing program

Preferred: Bachelor's degree in nursing

Experience:

2 or more years experience as a RN in critical care setting

Licenses/Certifications:

Required: Current Arizona RN license or compact state license

American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) BLS and ACLS
